“Darker” Superhero movies and shows.

You may have heard about the Amazon series Bad Boys or a term emerging called “DC Black Label.” Well, that’s because film makers, primarily in Warner Bros. who controls DC Comics films, have started to tend to “darker” audiences in the superhero world.

Back when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came out, people noticed the dark feel it had when comparing it to the brighter and more family-friendly Marvel Cinematic Universe films. That’s because it was an attempt to separate their movies from Marvel and set their own tone. Well, they didn’t take off very well. Due to poor directing and underwhelming story lines, people reviewed the Marvel rivals with very poor scores. In an attempt to be “different” they narrowed their audience. Parents want to know what their kids will be seeing. With this new movie feel, parents will definitely favor the lighter, Disney movies. So in order to alleviate this issue, DC released a special make to differentisate the two kinds of films DC will make. DC and DC Black label.

Bad Boys from Amazon received a lot of praise for its outlandish take on superheroes and its unique story. DC Black label will likely continue its dark feel furthering after the release of Joker October 2019. This trend is becoming more popular and will likely continue for some time.
